KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Financial Management and Accounting

●​ Lead financial planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting for programs and operations.
●​ Prepare and monitor annual organizational and project budgets.
●​ Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with organizational
financial policies, international accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and supported by adequate
documentation.
●​ Review and approve payment requests, expense claims, and financial transactions.
●​ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
●​ Ensure full compliance with donor financial regulations, grant agreements, and reporting
requirements by monitoring expenditure against approved budgets and maintaining proper
documentation for all donor-funded activities.
●​ Coordinate internal and external audits and address audit recommendations.

B. Grant and Donor Compliance
●​ Support financial management of grants and donor-funded projects.
●​ Ensure compliance with donor regulations and financial guidelines.
●​ Track grant expenditures against approved budgets.

●​ Prepare donor-specific financial reports, ensuring they match the narrative reports provided by
Program Managers.
●​ Support proposal budgeting and financial planning.
●​ Conduct financial due diligence on ALN’s local implementing partners.
●​ Review partner financial reports and build their capacity in financial management to mitigate
“downstream” risk.

C. Procurement Management
●​ Oversee procurement plans and processes in accordance with organizational procurement
policies.
●​ Review and approve purchase requests and procurement documentation.
●​ Maintain supplier databases and procurement records while ensuring proper contract management
and oversight of vendors and service providers.

D. Logistics and Asset Management
●​Coordinate logistics for procurement and distribution of project materials.
●​Maintain and update asset registers and inventory records.
●​Ensure proper tracking, storage, and management of organizational assets.
●​Support logistics arrangements for training, workshops, and field activities.

E. Financial Systems and Internal Controls
●​Ensure strong internal financial control systems.
●​Monitor compliance with finance and procurement policies.
●​Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.
●​Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial and procurement records.

F. Coordination and Capacity Building
●​ Work closely with program teams to align budgets, procurement plans, and project activities.
●​ Provide guidance to staff on financial procedures and procurement compliance.
●​ Support capacity building of staff and our partners on finance and procurement systems as
required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES
1.​ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related
field; professional certification such as ACCA or CPA is an asset.
2.​ Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within NGOs,
INGOs, or Non-Profit organizations.
3.​ Demonstrated experience managing donor-funded projects and ensuring compliance with major
donor’s financial regulations and reporting requirements.
4.​ Experience in procurement and logistics management within project or organizational operations.

5.​ Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal control systems and tools..
6.​ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
7.​ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high standards of integrity and
accountability.
8.​ Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively in
multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
